I want to get married on the Disney Treasure and contacted DCL hoping to book the main atrium and Skippers society venues as early as possible. What is the timing like for events? What else is included and can characters attend?

Ahoy there Rory, and welcome aboard planDisney as you prepare for your nautical nuptials!

As a Disney Groom who recently had a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding at Walt Disney World Resort, we also seriously looked into having a cruise wedding as former sailors who met at sea and explored the world as officers on board! I am happy to provide a few pearls of wisdom to help you plan for your upcoming Disney Cruise Line wedding on board the stunning, new Disney Treasure:

    • So far only the Grand Hall has been confirmed as one of the Disney Treasure's venues accommodating up to 40 guests and subject to limited availability each voyage - primarily while the ship is in Port. In my experience, a ceremony here can take place in less than half an hour and is immediately followed by a Cake and Champagne Celebration that can currently last for about two hours. On its sister ship the Disney Wish, this takes place in the adjacent venues on Deck 3 such as The Bayou or Nightingale's for smaller parties; I recommend keeping an eye to the horizon on official word from your Shoreside Wedding Coordinator whether Skipper Society will be available for you as well as any other yet-to-be-announced venue options!
    • Currently wedding ceremony bookings in the Grand Hall may include the following: an on-site ceremony coordinator, personal fresh floral, wedding attire steaming, an officiant, a pianist, and dinner for the newlyweds at Palo Steakhouse. While special Character appearances were an option to add for up to 20 minutes at wedding celebrations on board in the past, this is currently not available to add at the present time but is subject to change and availability in the future. In the meantime, couples have been delighted to be able to take advantage of the scheduled Character Greetings on board while dressed in their wedding best!

Feel free to come back for any more planDisney wedding advice Rory! As you start planning, be sure to check out the experiences of other cruise couples on Ever After Blog and Disney Wedding Podcast and watch the Grand Reveal - Unlocking the Disney Treasure to take a virtual look and dream of the possibilities!

Here's to your Happily Ever After on the horizon!
