I am in the market for a new rewards based credit card, and I want to make sure whichever card I choose provides points redeemable for Disney vacations. What other cards besides the Disney Visa does Disney recognize for redeeming points?

    Hi Aaron!

    This is a great question.

The Disney Visa with Chase has the official rewards program plus some other perks such as some discounts that are only available to Disney Visa card holders or hearing about a discount before the general public does, etc.

However, several card companies have reward programs that you can use on a Disney vacation "unofficially".  For example, several years ago I used points I acquired on an American Express card to stay at the Wilderness Lodge.  I could not call up Disney and make the reservation using points, but I could call American Express and they made the reservation on my behalf.  I have also used frequent flyer miles for the plane trip to Orlando over the years.

There are a lot of options out there.  Good luck with finding the right rewards program for you, and please write back if you have any more questions!
