Hi Jessica!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending your Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR!
It sounds like you're preparing to soak up some fun in the
Southern California sun, Jessica! And the beautiful pools at the
Disneyland Resort Hotels are definitely the best way to stay cool
and close to the magic. The hours of the hotel pools change based on a few different things, like the season (spring, spring break, etc) but also based on the weather - if it's going to be cold or windy that week they'll close earlier. The hours right now are not going to be the same as your planned Disney Days so I actually can't say for certain what they'll be like in the summer, but I feel like I've definitely been in the hot tubs around dinner time. Pause for a personal story: one of my favorite things about living in SoCal was that the temperatures dropped after dusk so much so that we'd need jackets or pullovers even in July. I think your
best time to utilize the pools will be mid-day as even 80 degrees in the full sun feels like well over 100. (When we lived near Mickey's house, I had a hard rule that we wouldn't make day trips to Disneyland until after 4:00 PM if it was over 75 because we just couldn't deal with it. And we're from Texas.)
I can share with you two pro-pool pro tips:
~ Guests of a
Disneyland Resort Hotel are welcome to start splashing as soon as they arrive and right up until they leave on both check-in and check-out days, even before your room is ready or after you've checked out. Both the
Disneyland Hotel and
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa have pool-side changing rooms with showers, so be sure to pack your pool and post-swim stuff in a carry-on bag.
~ The pool at
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment and reimagining so guests of this hotel are invited to enjoy the pools at the
Disneyland Resort Hotel.
I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to provide the answer you were sEARching for Jessica, but hopefully this insight helped plan your upcoming Disney days. Be sure to check out the
