Hi Marc! Attending SWW for the first time this year! Have boys 8 and (almost) 6 years old at time of visit. What should we expect, and not miss? How many days should we plan on spending at DHS? Would love some tips! Thanks,

    Hi Amanda!
My son and I love Star Wars Weekends! Your sons are the perfect ages for Star Wars Weekends! Typically, during Star Wars Weekends, Fridays are the least busy of the three days during the weekend. I would recommend getting to Hollywood Studios at least 45 minutes early before the park is scheduled to open, then you will get to see the Storm Troopers put on a show on the roof of the ticket gates. Also I would advise spending at least two days at Hollywood Studios during Star Wars Weekends because there is so much to see and do that is unique to Star Wars Weekends. As far as what not to miss, I would recommend that you see the Star Wars Parade and don't miss the Hyperspace Hoopla in the evening. Don't miss the special characters in Hollywood Studios because in addition to traditional Disney characters dressed in their Star Wars costumes, a number of Star Wars characters from the films and television series appear for photo opportunities and autograph signing. Characters at past Star Wars Weekends have included Clone Wars‘ Captain Rex, Ahsoka Tano, Queen Amidala, Aurra Sing, Boba Fett, Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Clonetroopers, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Ewoks, Jango Fett, Jawas, Palpatine, Shaak Ti, Greedo, Stormtroopers, Tusken Raiders, Kit Fisto, Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Boushh and Zam Wesell. Most appearances are in preset locations in front of themed backdrops but some characters freely roam the parks and pose for photos with guests as well. Also make sure that you sign your sons up for Jedi Training Academy even if they have done it before because they may get to have a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader or Darth Maul. If your sons are into Star Wars Trivia, then there is also a Padawan Mind Challenge that they can participate in.

May the Force be with you as you discover Star Wars Weekends with your sons in Hollywood Studios!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
