Are the maps and wait times no longer available on the app?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Michelle!

The My Disney Experience mobile app is such a great tool for planning your vacation, and it includes so many helpful features when you’re at the Walt Disney World Resort. The first time I unlocked my resort hotel room door with my phone, I felt like I was really living in Walt Disney’s vision of Tomorrowland!

I’m happy to confirm that the interactive map feature is still available in the My Disney Experience mobile app. When you first open the app, you’ll see the map at the very top of the home screen – tap that, and the interactive map will fill your device screen. From there, you can navigate the whole resort. When I open my map, it lands in Magic Kingdom Park at Cinderella Castle, and as I swipe around I can view wait times. If you’d like to filter the app to view dining, Guest Services locations, restrooms, and more, tap the drop-down arrow at the top of the app. There’s also a "Filter" option on the top left to refine your list even more – for example, if you choose to see attractions, you can filter by thrill factor, height requirements, accessibility and more. It’s such a great tool. Please note you can also change the view by tapping “Show List” in the top right; when you do that, you’ll get a list instead of needing to swipe to navigate the park map. My tween daughter loves to borrow my phone when we’re waiting in line or at a restaurant and play the “Guess the Wait Time” game with her little brother.

If you’ve opened your mobile app and don’t see the interactive map, I have a couple of suggestions that have worked for me in the past. First, try closing the app and then reopening it (you’ll likely have to sign in again). If that doesn’t work, I would check your app store to see if there are app updates available. Sometimes the app behaves a bit like Stitch when it needs updating. If you’ve tried all of that, you may need to delete the app and uninstall it. You can also call a friendly Cast Member at (407) 939-4357; they have been a huge help to me when I’ve had issues with My Disney Experience in the past.

Pixie dusted wishes that you’re off to Neverland with your interactive map soon, Michelle! As you look at the maps and dream about your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, please come back and see us if you have any questions. It’s always a pleasure to think wonderful thoughts as we dream about a great big beautiful tomorrow with a fellow Guest.

    Have a great Disney day!
