Hiya, Brandi! Welcome to planDisney. I am so glad you stopped by with your question about your upcoming trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth.
You can easily manage the whozits and whatzits galore for your family on your
My Disney Experience app. Everyone needs a
MyDisney account that is connected to you. If you need to create one for anyone in your family, there are a few simple steps.
- Open the main menu (the "≡") on the app
- Scroll to "Account" and select "Profile"
- Open the "Family & Friends List" tab
- Click on "+ Add a Guest"
- Select "I'll enter their name and age" and enter the required information
Through this process, everyone should have an account and be connected to you. You will be able to do everything with the gadgets and gizmos aplenty on your app. You can purchase Lightning Lane passes, join Virtual Queues and share Disney PhotoPass pictures.
Each person can use a MagicBand or MagicBand+ to access the lines. You can also set up Disney MagicMobile service to use your cell phone or watch. If you are splitting up for some rides, a MagicBand would be the easiest option to navigate the parks, with everybody having their own. You could also stop by Guest Services at the gate to any theme park and get a physical card to carry. With either of these, your husband and children can quickly tap and access the Lightning Lane and Virtual Queue entry lines without you or the app being nearby.
Have you heard about Rider Switch? If there are attractions you and your husband want to enjoy but cannot ride together because a family member does not meet the height requirement, this is a great option. One adult can go with any children who are tall enough. When they come back with smiles, that parent can watch the littlest Mousketeer, and the other parent can go without waiting in the standby queue. Just check in with a Cast Member when you first arrive at an attraction that offers this service, and they will instruct you on their procedures.
Walt Disney World Resort has some awesome resources for planning a park day with little ones. The Planning Guide for Parents of Preschoolers & Small Children shares ideas on everything from attractions and character greetings to dining. You can also explore the list of attractions with filters for age ranges and height.
I am so excited about the laughter and joy awaiting you at Walt Disney World. If you have any other questions, you know you have a friend in planDisney.
Thinking of the Happiest Things!
