Hi Stefanie!
Using a Golf Cart while staying at the
Fort Wilderness Resort is a great way to really enjoy the property. This is especially true during the holidays when you can easily travel through the loops in the cart to see the decorations that many guests put up on their sites.
Golf Carts can be used by guests who are staying in the cabins as well as those staying in the RV sites. The cabins have outside plugs where you can park and charge when not using the carts. The RV sites will have electrical posts that also have outlets to charge the carts. There is plenty of space to park both carts and cars on either sites.
If you are using a scooter in the cabins you might want to request a handicap cabin which has a nice ramp leading up to the front door versus stairs. This will allow you to easily keep the scooter inside and out of the weather elements. If you are staying in an RV it would be difficult to bring it inside as getting it up into any RV is extremely difficult. You can keep it outside and try to protect it with a cover or under a slide.
You would not be able to put a scooter on the golf carts. They are four person and the seats would not accommodate such a large piece. It is often difficult enough for guests to bring a folded stroller with them when driving in the carts.
The internal bus system at Fort Wilderness can easily accommodate the scooters. There are many stops along the way and the bus drivers will assist you in getting the scooters on board and in place. Hope this helps with your planning and let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.
