How can I manage minors in my Disney account that are currently managed by someone else?

Welcome to planDisney, Joshua! Thanks for stopping by with your question today as you count down the final days to your magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! It sounds like you need some help making sure you can make plans for some younger mouseketeers in your party, so let's jump right into your question to make sure your planning and park days go smoothly!

Joshua, if the guests you are traveling with are under 13 years of age, their My Disney Experience accounts must be managed by an adult. If you'd like to take over complete ownership of the minor's managed account, you'll have to reach out directly to a Cast Member at Disney App Support or through the "Chat with Us" feature on the mobile app to see if they can help you with this process. If the minor is in your travel party and you'd just like to be able to make plans on their behalf, you can still do that by connecting to their account through the guest who currently manages them.

Because these accounts are managed by another adult, you'll want to first make sure you are connected to the manager of their account on your Family and Friends List. Once you've connected to the account that manages them, you can select to "Add a Guest" on your Family and Friends List. To do this, click on the three horizontal lines at the bottom right-hand corner of your mobile app, then select "My Profile", and then click on Family & Friends List. From here, scroll all the way to the bottom and tap on "Add a Guest and choose "Find through my connected Guests". You should see the managed accounts on this list, and you can select to send an invitation to the guest who manages their account to give you permission to connect.

Joshua, once you're connected to a minor's account, you can make plans for them and include them in booking dining reservations, resort reservations, and Lightning Lane passes. This also allows you access to see any other plans made for the children in your My Disney Experience account, including tickets, passes, and other reservations. This is a great option if you're traveling with kids but don't need to have full ownership of their accounts.

I hope this helps, Joshua! If you have any other questions, come see us again here at planDisney! Wishing you a magical visit full of memories, magic, and lots of Mickey-shaped snacks!

    Happy Holidays,
    Alison
