Hi Daniel!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Mom’s Panel! You have such a great question. As a mom with a family of 5, I can appreciate that planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with a large family may be a bit stressful. Rest assured, Disney has thought of virtually everything to help you and your
Little Ones have an enjoyable time.
One of the first things that I am going to suggest is that you start to look through and choose 3-5 “must-do’s” in each Theme Park. This way, you have a starting point of attractions that you and your family want to experience. I would then decide which of those “must-do’s” to use your
FastPass+ for. If you are staying at the Walt Disney World Resort, FastPass+ return times can be scheduled 60 days in advance of your stay, and if you are at an off-site location, FastPass+ return times can be scheduled 30 days in advance of your visit. FastPass+ return times will help you cut down on the time you spend waiting in line.
Many of the
attractions allow three riders in a row. Typically, my husband will take our oldest child in a row of their own, and I will take the two younger children in my row. Some of our favorite attractions to experience with the children are: Dumbo the Flying Elephant, “it’s a small world,” Jungle Cruise, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan’s Flight, Frozen Ever After, Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and Living with the Land.
Some of the Rides that have a height requirement of 40 Inches that you can experience with your two children are: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Soarin, Test Track, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, and Kali River Rapids.
One last thing to consider is taking advantage of the
Rider Switch. Rider Switch will allow one member of your party to stay with those who are not riding, while you enjoy the attraction with the child/children that can/wants to ride. Once you finish the attraction, you will meet whoever stayed back with the non-riders, and they can now experience the attraction without waiting in line again. Rider Switch will allow 3 Guests to return to experience the attraction, so whoever gets to experience the attraction the second time can bring the children back on again if they choose to ride.
Please stop by again with any other questions that you may have!
See ya real soon!
