When making a resorvation at a restaurant, do we need to be visiting that park that day to have access or can we just enter to use the dining facilities?

    Greetings Elissa!

What a great question! Knowing where restaurants are located as you make dining reservations in advance is absolutely key to vacation planning at Walt Disney World Resort. If a restaurant is located in one of the four Disney theme parks, you would need to use a theme park admission ticket to access that restaurant. For instance, if you plan to dine at Be Our Guest Restaurant, you would need to present a ticket for admission to Magic Kingdom Park. Similarly, you would only be able to access a dinner reservation at Tiffins if you have entered Disney's Animal Kingdom.

There are many wonderful restaurants, however, at Disney Springs and in Walt Disney World Resort hotels. These dining establishments can be accessed without theme park admission. Chef Mickey's on the fourth floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort or Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs are great examples.

Therefore, all you need to do is map out a rough itinerary noting where you plan to spend each day of your vacation. Then call (407) WDW-DINE, or (407) 939-3463 180 days in advance of your arrival to book dining reservations at restaurants in the theme parks or hotels you'll be visiting on those dates. If you need any suggestions for where to dine, please don't hesitate to ask. My friends and I here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel love to talk Disney dining!

Wishing you many magical memories on your upcoming trip,
    Jill
