We are making res for end Sept.,2013. i am sold on POR. Will have young children(7 5 2 1) and 7 adults. Can you give me a little more info on this resort? Too big, too much walking? Thanks, you guys give great advice!!

You've made a great choice, Patti!  Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite moderate resort; it's just gorgeous there!  While the resort is sprawling, it features charming walkways that make the stroll from point A to point B a pleasant one.  Depending upon how much you intend to require access to the resort center and the main themed pool, you might not find that your stay will require a ton of walking.  Bus stops are convenient to every room.

During one stay, my family was assigned a room in lodge 18 of the Alligator Bayou section.  We were a quick walk from the lobby, food court and lounge, but a bit further from the pool.  When we stayed in the mansions, it took us significantly longer to get to the resort center, but getting to the pool was quick and easy.  It really depends upon where you end up.  With kids that young, you'll probably have access to a stroller or two and you could always make use of them on the resort grounds as well as in the parks.  I hope you enjoy your stay at Port Orleans, Patti!
