Hi Doris, and welcome to planDisney!
I hope your bags are packed, because your visit to Walt Disney World is right around the corner! I'm so glad you stopped by with your question, so I can help you prepare for a magical (and time-efficient!) trip. I see that your Lightning Lane window opens up very soon, so let's dive right in!
In
The Most Magical Place on Earth, Lightning Lane passes can help you maximize your time and make the most of the magic. My family loves using both Lightning Lane Single Pass and Lightning Lane Multi Pass to expedite our wait times for our favorite rides, shows, and attractions! And as a meticulous Disney World planner, I love having the ability to plan for some of those experiences in advance.
Doris, it sounds like your family is a bit like mine: we all have different ideas about what constitutes a "must-do" in Disney World (and if your family
is like mine, they all have some VERY strong opinions!). Luckily, it's easy to plan for everyone using your
My Disney Experience app!
Before your Lightning Lane window opens (3 days before arrival for off-site guests and 7 days before check-in for on-site guests), be sure that your payment method is linked to your account and that everyone in your travel party is linked to your My Friends & Family list. It's also important to know which attractions are included under the Lightning Lane Multi Pass system and which ones require a Lightning Lane Single Pass (you can view more information on that
right here).
When it comes to Lightning Lane Single Pass, the process is super simple. Just choose your experience and desired arrival time, and purchase Lightning Lane Single Passes
only for family members who want to ride. Remember that you can book up to two Lightning Lane Single Pass experiences per day, and that if you've purchased the
Park Hopper ticket option, they do not have to be in the same park.
For Lightning Lane Multi Passes, you'll have two options. The first is to divide your family into two groups based on their desired selections, and to make two separate purchases. The second option is to book everyone together for the same three initial experiences, and then modify your Lightning Lane selections after the fact.
My friend Amy recently explained how to modify those selections to another guest, and I think you'll find that the process is pretty straightforward and intuitive.
Doris, I hope this information is helpful and that it helps you feel confident and prepared as you embark on your magical Walt Disney World vacation! If you have any other planning questions, you know where to find us here at planDisney!
Wishing you short waits and lots of magic,
Allison
