We will be making a 10 hr. drive to WDW this Sept. with kids 8 and 7. Any ideas on first night activities? We'd like to go to dinner (a character meal would be fun!) and maybe something quick and low key after. We would be arriving around 6 pm. Thanks!

We always enjoy going to the Contemporary Resort for dinner at Chef Mickey's. Afterwards we explore the shops and then take a round-trip ride on the monorail (unless we are fortunate to be staying on the monorail line).

By then, it's time for a swim back at the hotel!

After your drive, this should be enough for your first evening. We have driven many times to WDW (usually two 8-hour days) and a low-key evening is perfect before starting to the parks early the next morning.
