We are making our first WDW trip June 8-12 with our 2 1/2 year old son. My husband is in the military and we have reserved our room through Shades of Green. Are we eligible to add a meal plan to our stay? Any suggestions for dining on a limited budget?

Hello and welcome to the Moms Panel!

Unfortunately, guests staying at Shades of Green Resort are not eligible for the Disney Dining Plan.  I would highly recommend packing your own snacks, small sandwiches, and drinks in order to keep costs down.  By doing this, you can save some money in order to enjoy some character dining at each of the four parks.  In the past, my family and I would have some breakfast in our room, such as cereal, prior to leaving for the parks.  Then we would pack some sandwiches for lunch later on in the day.  I always kept small snacks around for the kids.  Snacking in the parks can add up real fast if you have to purchase them. With all the money we saved from breakfast and lunch, we were able to book MAGICAL dining experiences at one of the Walt Disney World Restaurants each evening.

Thank you so much for visiting the Moms Panel.  Please join us again real soon should any new questions or concerns pop-up.  We are always ready to help our guests plan the vacation of a lifetime.  May your Walt Disney World vacation be filled with many new and MAGICAL memories!
