    We're making our first visit in June & I would like to make a reservation for a character breakfast at Chef Mickey on my son's birthday. We're staying off site, do we park in the Magic Kingdom car park? How much time should we allow? Thanks

    Welcome to the Moms Panel Elsa!  We're super glad you're hEAR!

    Chef Mickey's is an awesome place to celebrate a birthday!   Guests who are dining at a restaurant at the Contemporary (or any of the hotels) are allowed to park there during their meal. Follow the signs for the Magic Kingdom. Stay to the right (but not the bus lane) when you reach the parking plaza.  Tell the Cast Member that you are going to the Contemporary.  You will not be required to pay the parking fee and they will direct you to proceed straight towards the Contemporary Resort.

    Once you reach the Contemporary, pull forward to the Guard and tell him/her that you are dining at Chef Mickey's.  You will be required to present a valid photo ID and they will direct you where you should park.

    If you are planning to visit the Magic Kingdom following your breakfast you will need to move your car to the Magic Kingdom parking lot.  If this is the case, you could start by parking in the Magic Kingdom parking lot and taking a Resort Monorail to the Contemporary.  That way once you've finished your meal, you can take the short walk over to the Magic Kingdom.

    If you plan to park at the Magic Kingdom parking lot first, I'd allow 45 minutes to be safe.  That way you'll know that you'll have plenty of time to park, take the tram to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) and then the Resort Monorail to the Contemporary.  The Contemporary Resort will be the 4th stop from TTC.  If you arrive early for your reservation, you can explore the Contemporary Resort.
