We are making our first trip to WDW from December 11-21, 2014. What clothing should we pack and what can we expect for temperatures and precipitation?

    Dale:

The average daily temperature in Orlando in mid-December puts the weather in the MID 70s during the day and down to the 50s in the evening. But I always tell folks to check the weather before leaving home. Unlike the summer where you're guaranteed hot weather and shorts all day every day, the winter months can bring unpredictable weather. Not only can cool temps blow in quickly but rain as well.

Last year when I was down for the WDW Marathon, we wore shorts at the beginning of the week but by the end of the trip I was heading to the shops at Downtown Disney to buy a thicker jacket. A good rule of thumb for me when I travel to Disney is to bring a few layers that can be tied around my waist or rolled up in a backpack during the day but easily worn at night.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
