We are making our first trip for my husband and my 3 year old son. We are only going to be going to Disney for one day. I am trying to decide between the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom. We will be going in July. Any suggestions.

Hi Nikhia!  Wow, it is hard to choose what to do when you only have one day at Walt Disney World!  But one day is better then no days so make the best of it and come back soon.

Since this is your husband and your son's first trip I strongly suggest the Magic Kingdom. This park is really what Disney is about. Who doesn't want to see the magical castle or the famous Main Street? The parks are crowded in the summer but try and just enjoy your one day and see and do as much as possible. Study the map on line before you go to familiarize yourself with the park. Note the attractions you will want to try to do with your son and mark them. The more you can prepare the easier your day will be. Try to arrive at opening and stay as late your son can last. There will be a day time parade, Street Party during the day, and then night parade and fireworks. They are all incredible sights so hopefully you will be able to last.

If you know the day you will be there try to get some dining reservations. Your son would enjoy breakfast perhaps at the Crystal Palace. If you book it early you can arrive in the park before the other guests can which will give you an amazing photo opportunity of the castle. Other great dining spots that require reservations include: Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's, Be Our Guest, and the Plaza restaraunt. You can make reservations by going on line to www.disneyworld.com. And if you don't wish to plan dining ahead there are great quick service places all over the park.

Make sure you bring your camera and definitely get some good shots with some of the many characters. Your son and family will most definitely have a magical day!
