Hello! Making our first trip at the end of May. We are staying at Coronado and I booked a preferred room, what does that mean exactly? Also, what are your thoughts about Coronado, bringing hubby and daughter 11 and son 14. Thanks!!!!

    Hi Colleen,

Congratulations on your first trip to Disney World!  I recently stayed at the Coronado Springs Resort with my family & loved it!

A preferred room will get you closer to the restaurants, main building or bus stops.  You can also request a standard view or a water view.  The standard view may overlook the parking lot, trees or walk ways.  The water view over looks the pools or lake.  If you have a preference of a location, certain building or view, you can contact the resort directly (407-939-1000) beginning 10 days prior to your trip to make your request.  Keep in mind that it is a request and they can't always guarantee a specific building or location but they will do everything they can to meet your request.

We don't spend a lot of time in our rooms so a certain view isn't always a priority for us. We do like being close to the restaurants and/or main pool.

Coronado Springs is a large spread out resort but its beautiful! The main pool is amazing!  They also have a sand volleyball court and an arcade that your kids may enjoy.  Lago Dorado near El Centro offers pedal boats and electric boat rentals.  You can also rent regular or surrey bikes.  If you've never rent a surrey bike, try it - its a ton of fun and we laughed the whole time.

Pepper Market is the Food Court at Coronado Springs.  Its different than the other food courts on property.  When you arrive, a hostess will seat you and give each member of your part a card.  You can each then visit the food stations.  Each time you select an item, they will stamp your card.  At the end of your meal, you'll give the host your food cards to pay.  The outdoor seating offers a beautiful view of the lake.

At first you may find this resort a little overwhelming but you'll feel at home in no time and will love it!  Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
