Making dining reservations but we have a lot of picky eaters and also food allergies. One child is on a french fries only kick. Do restaurants have a simple kids meal that serves french fires? Also are they good with helping people with food allergies?

    Hi Rebecca!

Planning meals for vacation can always be tricky when accommodating picky eaters, but adding food allergies into the mix can make it even harder! As the mom to a little one with multiple food allergies, I know how hard it can be to find food that is both safe and tasty. Thankfully, in my experience the Chefs and Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort have always done a fantastic job at accommodating my little one's special diet!

When you are making your dining reservations, I recommend that you add your family's food allergies to your reservations either when you book your dining reservations online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 to add them to existing reservations. Then when you are enjoying a table service dining experience, be sure to ask to speak to the Chef to help you select a meal for your little one that will be enjoyable and safe.

In my experience accommodating my son's allergies, the Chef has helped us navigate the allergy-friendly menus to help us select something for my son. In many cases, the Chef asked my son directly what he would like to enjoy and figured out how he could best accommodate him. We have found that table service restaurants have a good mix of "simple" kids meals that picky eaters will enjoy as will as options for more adventurous little eaters.

If you have additional questions about accommodating your little one's specific food allergies, I recommend that you contact the Special Diets team by emailing them at Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com. Plus, you can always come back to see us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
