Major foot surgery; am a large 61yo; 5'11 weighing 300#. Considering an ECV for my use. As a first time user of ECV - I'm EMBARRASSED! I've read all ECV links-but am resisting due to pride. How hard to get around in theme parks in crowds?Thank you!

    Hi Trula:

Thanks for sending the Disney Parks Moms Panel your question.  Please don't ever feel embarrassed or let your pride get in the way of taking care of your healing foot.  Walt Disney World Resort is expansive, and walking all day can be tiring, even without just having had foot surgery.  I wouldn't risk further injuring your foot by walking all day every day.  I have a family member member who requires the use of an ECV during our Walt Disney World Resort Vacations.  After multiple back and knee surgeries pride was a factor for not using an ECV for several visits.  After finally convincing him to use one, he couldn't believe how much he was missing before.

Navigating the Theme Parks can be a little tricky during peak times and with large crowds, however all of the Theme Parks are very accessible, and the Cast Members will go out of their way to make sure all guests are enjoying their experience.  Most public spaces at Walt Disney World are very open allowing for easy maneuverability of ECV's as well as large numbers of guests.  There are even spaces to park your ECV near to all of the attractions.  I find that most guests on ECV's are very cautious and drive rather slow, keeping an eye on all of the excited children.  I would imagine that once you get the hang of it, navigating throughout he Theme Parks will be a piece of cake!

Please let me know if you have any other questions Trula. I would be happy to help.
