Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Vanessa! The opening of
Magic Kingdom's Main Street, U.S.A. before official opening of the park has been wonderful for guests. I really enjoy the atmosphere of the Hub and the shops in the morning. It’s quaint and quiet, with the magic hanging in the air.
While you will be able to shop, purchase a coffee or enjoy the ride vehicles that may be operating in the early morning, you won’t be allowed into the “lands” of Magic Kingdom. Select entertainment or attractions such as greeting Magician Mickey or Tinkerbell will not be accessible until official opening time, but you can of course begin queuing for these. While there are caricature artists and occasionally silhouette artists in the right hand nook of Main Street, U.S.A. they were not yet operating in the early hour the last time I visited this Spring. But please do check as the opening hour approaches. Sometimes, they open "early" and start taking guests. I agree that the sitting for these is one of the most wonderful, cost effective souvenirs you can purchase. I have my children’s silhouettes hanging in my entry hall, complete with oval frames right from the same cart. I highly recommend stopping in
Liberty Square near the parasol cart and asking for Mr. Jim to complete your art. He is incredibly skilled and it’s a miracle how deft his hands are.
If I can help you find more unique art during your visit, please let me know. You’ve got a friend in me! ~ Lindsey P.
