Does the Main Street Barber Shop get long lines? Is it something we should do first thing? I'll have a 2 1/2 year old & 15 month old. Are they good at handling kids that young? We're thinking of going during early Oct. for the Food and Wine Festival

The Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street operates on a first-come first-served basis.  My son had his first haircut there in September of 2007 and I took the opportunity to ask his stylist about crowd patterns.  She told me that it's nearly impossible to predict when waits will be shortest.  Obviously, if you can be the first guest in line when they open you're in great shape!  Other than that, it's pretty much anybody's guess as to when is the best time to go.  One tidbit she did pass along to me was that sometimes they have less of a wait during a parade.  Even that, though, was not a guarantee.  My experience was that we stopped in at right around 4 o'clock as we entered the park for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  We waited less than ten minutes.

As for whether they are good with young children or not, I wholeheartedly say yes!  My son was thirteen months old when we were there.  The stylist that cut his hair was quick and efficient in spite of his inability to sit still.  They also had plenty of "tools of the trade" on hand to keep his attention as well as they could.  Bubbles, light spinning toys and a Disney movie were all available and utilized!

    Hope that helps!
