Hey howdy hey, Bruce and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. There is something special about walking to Disneyland Resort. I find that the closer I get the fast I walk and I have to remind myself that I'm not "Dash" Parr from Disney•Pixar The Incredibles.
The main entrance to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park is located off South Harbor Boulevard north of West Katella Avenue, south of West Ball Road, and west of Interstate I-5. I am including
driving directions to Disneyland Resort and
parking areas to get you as close to magic as possible before setting out on foot.
There are several ways to get to the main entrance when walking. From South Harbor Drive locate the Disneyland Resort sign on the west side of the street. Find the IHOP and use the crosswalk if needed to cross S. Harbor Blvd. Follow the pedestrian path past the bus depot until you get to the security checkpoint. Once through you will be at the Esplanade with Disneyland Park on the right and Disney California Adventure Park on the left.
From the
Disneyland Hotel, you will come out the front entrance heading toward the
Downtown Disney District. Walk all the way through this area passing over Disneyland Drive. Continue as you pass
The VOID: Step Beyond Reality, Marceline's Confectionary,
World of Disney till you reach the Esplanade which is the open area between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. The main entrance from Disneyland is on the left.
From
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel head out the back entrance and turn right. Follow the path toward the Disneyland Hotel until you get to the crosswalk on Disneyland Drive at the entrance to
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. From here you may continue to walk north until you get to Downtown Disney District where you make a right and follow the same path as you would from the Disneyland Hotel. If you do not want to walk to the Downtown Disney District then you may go through Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa which has an entrance to the Downtown Disney District. Exit the building, head right, and follow the path to the Esplanade.
Disney Dad Tip: When in doubt, follow the
Disneyland Monorail. It crosses the Esplanade leading you to the "Happiest Place on Earth."
Please let us know if you have more questions to help you plan your enchanted Disney vacation.
Bruce, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
