Hi Jessica!
These are great questions! The main differences between the moderate and the value resorts are the amenities. You will find that the moderate resorts offer more in terms of recreation. For example, resorts such as the Fort Wilderness Cabins and Port Orleans offer fishing, boating, carriage rides and many more. You will also note that the moderate resorts offer table service dining while the value resorts offer counter service dining. I also find that the rooms in the moderate resorts can be a little bigger in comparison to the value resorts. As far as walking distance, it is very difficult to gauge. The majority, if not all, of the value and moderate resorts offer guests the option of booking a "Preferred" room which are usually closer to the transportation, pools and dining areas. The value resorts do offer a small refrigerator in the rooms. After staying in all of the different value and moderate resorts, I can tell you from experience that I have had great experiences in both. It all boils down to themes and what you and your family would like to experience. I recommend that you visit the
Resorts Page and check out all of the options. Be sure to look at the gallery of pictures of each resort to help you with your decision! I would love to give you my personal feedback if you have any questions on a particular resort!
It has been a pleasure assisting you! Again, please feel free to send me any additional questions!
