    We have MagicBands from our 2013 WDW vacation when they were still in the testing phase. We are returning to WDW in Aug 2018. Will we receive new bands or do we use our old ones? We had 5 people in 13 but only 4 of us in 18. Does that affect anything?

    Wow, it is so exciting that you are planning your August 2018 Walt Disney World vacation! If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort during your 2018 Walt Disney World vacation, then you will receive complementary a MagicBand for each member of your traveling party! If you are not staying a Walt Disney World Resort, then you can purchase MagicBands at the Disney Store online. Typically the battery in the MagicBand lasts approximately two years, so your 2013 MagicBands may or may not have battery life left so I would recommend getting new MagicBands. Also the design of the MagicBands have changed since 2013. They are thinner and contain a center puck which can be removed to place in various accessories such as a MagicKeepers lanyard medal or MagicKeepers carabiner. I hope that your 2018 Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!
