We have MagicBands 2 from our cancelled 2020 trip. We are finally going back to WDW this June. Will our MagicBands still work or should we get new ones?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Jennifer! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so, so much for stopping by with your question!

MagicBands are technically supposed to last anywhere between two and three years before their batteries run out, but I'm happy to report that I own quite a few six and seven-year-old bands that still work! I've found that my older MagicBands struggle with their RFID features like automatically linking attraction photos to my Disney account, but they work just fine when I use them to get into the Theme Parks or redeem my Lightning Lane reservations.

Jennifer, I encourage you to bring your old MagicBands with you, since they'll probably work just fine. However, you're welcome to stop by any ticketing booth or Guest Relations location throughout the Walt Disney World Resort to pick up complimentary Key to the World cards just in case your bands act up! If you'd like to purchase new ones, you can do so at most merchandise locations too.

I hope my answer has helped clarify your concerns, my friend! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us again. We're always available and more than happy to help! Have a magical day!

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
