Hi Jessica!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
Walt Disney World Resort's MagicBand technology has helped guests be able to travel lighter when on vacation. You'll no longer need to dig through your bag to find your room key, theme park admission ticket, or credit card, as all of those tasks can now be handled with a quick tap of your MagicBand. My favorite function of the MagicBand is using it to unlock my resort hotel room door. When I come back to the room after a long day exploring the theme parks, usually with an armload of stuff, it's so nice to just tap my wrist on the touchpoint to open the door. Technology is awesome!
While MagicBand technology is amazing, some guests do not enjoy wearing (or cannot wear) a bracelet around their wrist. To give guests an alternative to wearing the colorful, waterproof bands, Disney developed MagicKeepers. The MagicBand2 center icon is removable with a small screwdriver and can pop into one of the MagicKeepers and be used for the same purposes as a traditional MagicBand. At this time, there are
two different types of MagicKeepers - a lanyard medal and a caribiner clip.
The
MagicBandits that you're asking about are small, decorative icons with a plastic tab on the back that pops securely into the holes on the MagicBand wriststrap. Since the
Mickey Mouse MagicKeepers Lanyard Medal does not have a strap with holes in it like the MagicBand, there would be no place on the MagicKeeper to display a MagicBandit.
I hope this helps answer your question. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
