I got a MagicBand+ when visiting Disney World in FL. Used it there and it was great. However, I would like to link it to my Magic Key at Disneyland in CA and cannot. I have tried reseting, software updating, and charging.

    Hey there Mariana!

Welcome to planDisney. I'd be happy to help sort out your tech dilemma.

I'm an east coast girl so I typically use my MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World Resort, but I was able to pair it with my Disneyland App when I visited a Disneyland Resort a few months ago. There are a few steps you'll need to take but hopefully, we can get you on the right path as easy as one, two, three.

First, do not deactivate the MagicBand+ from your My Disney Experience account for use at Walt Disney World Resort. You'll be able to switch the band back and forth between both coasts so leave those settings just as they are. Instead, navigate to your phone's Bluetooth settings and locate your linked MagicBand+ from the list of paired devices. Select the info button to "Forget This Device." Next, open your Disneyland Mobile App, select the three horizontal lines at the bottom right, and select the MagicBand+ tile at the top of the screen. Click the "+" icon in the top right corner to pair your MagicBand+. You'll be able to do this by using your phone's camera, typing in the ID number listed on the back of your band, or with the scanner by tapping the center of your band to the upper back of your phone. It took me a few attempts to link via the scanner but I eventually found the sweet spot on the back of my phone. You'll just need to make sure your MagicBand+ has a sufficient charge to pair.

Once you have your band paired, it should automatically connect with the Magic Key linked to your Disneyland App, but online support is also available if you are still experiencing issues.
When it's time to head back to the east coast simply follow the steps above to forget the device from your Bluetooth settings and re-pair your MagicBand+ to your My Disney Experience App. Your MagicBand+ will allow you to enter the parks, scan in for Lightning Lane entries, and link PhotoPass photos on both coasts faster than you can say "bibbidi, bobbidi, boo!"

Did you know that you can also use your MagicBand+ to interact with the Disney100 Medallions around the parks? Be sure to check it out on your next visit! I'm an especially big fan of the fun new colorful displays and vibrations that pair with the evening spectaculars. They really make an already magical experience even more special, so don't forget to take a moment to look next time you watch Fantasmic! or World of Color-ONE.

Mariana, I hope this helped. If you still need additional assistance you can also reach out to a friendly Cast Member by phone.

    Wishing you magic and memories,
