Do magicband + , just turn off on there own?

Hey there, Mary, and welcome to planDisney!

This is a great question about your MagicBand+! It's something that, before now, I hadn't considered doing. I totally understand wanting to preserve the battery for as long as possible and I've figured out how to do just that. Let's dive right into it!

First, did you know that even when your MagicBand+ isn't charged or isn't "on," it can still be used for theme park entry and your Resort hotel room key?! I rarely have mine charged (I always forget) and I can use it just fine. However, if it's not charged or turned on, the cool, light-up interactive features won't work.

They do not turn off automatically. Here's how you can turn off your MagicBand+: Press and hold the power button on the back of it for six seconds. It should vibrate and glow red. This means that you've completed your mission. When you're ready to turn it back on, press the power button until its light turns on.

Now, if you simply want to power your MagicBand+ down because the vibrations are a little too strong, you can adjust the levels in your My Disney Experience app. Open the app, click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner, then select "MagicBands & Cards." In this section, choose a MagicBand+ associated with someone in your party, and feel free to adjust the "Light Up Theme" or "Settings." Side note: Do this when your MagicBand+ is turned on.

AN EXTRA GEM: One of my favorite experiences that connects to my MagicBand+ is going down the bayou at Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom. I can't get enough of the synchronization of the haptics to the music and atmosphere of the ride. My kiddos like seeing their bands light up during the parades and fireworks displays.

I hope that you found this answer helpful, Mary! And thank you for helping me learn something new about my super useful MagicBands+. If you have any other questions about your upcoming trip, reach out to us here at planDisney. I'm all ears!

    Magic always,
