If I've never had a magicband and only have tickets, can I wait until I arrive to get a magic band? We arrive in one week.

Hi Gaye! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Oh boy! Your trip is right around the corner now! You are going to have a lot of fun experiencing the "magic" around the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks soon. I just returned from "The Most Magical Place on Earth" and I must say that I love this time of year. The fall decorations lining Main Street, U.S.A. and the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival are enough to make me want to go back already!

A MagicBand is such an amazing tool to make vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort even easier! Guests can use their theme park tickets (cards) and are not required to purchase and use MagicBands, but they really are so convenient. You will be happy to know that, yes, you can wait until you arrive to purchase a MagicBand! Since it sounds like you are just visiting the theme parks during this trip, I recommend using your regular ticket to enter the theme park that you are visiting first, then head to the merchandise locations to browse their MagicBands. I have to warn you ... there are a lot of designs to choose from! They also have plain MagicBands in a variety of colors and they are super budget-friendly.

Once you have your MagicBand purchased, you can link the MagicBand to your My Disney Experience account, along with your Walt Disney World theme park ticket. Then the MagicBand will act as your ticket, as well as FastPass+ queue entrance and a way to capture your PhotoPass photos from photographers and attractions.

I hope this helps, Gaye! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
