We're happy that you decided to stop by with your question and I'm excited to help you with your MagicBand! I'm a tech geek, so I was very excited when the
Disney Parks Blog announced that MagicBand+ functionality was coming to the Disneyland Resort. In fact, I had a trip planned to the Walt Disney World Resort and purchased a MagicBand+ so I could use the same Band on both coasts!
At this current time, Jamie, only the
MagicBand+ is supported at the Disneyland Resort, so you will be able to use your MagicBand only if it a MagicBand+, not the older generation MagicBand 1 or 2. You can easily check this by using the My Disney Experience App and pressing the "☰" Features Menu. Then find "MagicBands and More" and you should see all MagicBands registered under your account and their type. I had to unlink my MagicBand+ from My Disney Experience before I was able to link it to my account and ticket in the
Disneyland Mobile App.
If you find that you won't be able to use your current MagicBand, you may purchase a new MagicBand+ at
these locations around the Resort. There are so many cool designs and I'm sure you'll be able to find something that speaks to you. With your MagicBand+, you'll be able to experience new
Dazzling Interactions for the Disney100 Celebration and use it to scan into the Parks and redeem Lightning Lanes!
