My magicband was previously connected to another account when we took a vacation with another family last year. How can I reactivate my magicband onto my current account?

    Hi Julia, welcome to planDisney!

Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation countdown is officially in the single digits - congratulations!! Since your last visit, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has officially reverse-launched in EPCOT. This attraction can currently be experienced via a virtual queue or as an Individual Lightning Lane purchase. All that time saved by not standing in a standby queue can be well spent enjoying the sights, sounds, and eats of the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival

Let's review some important Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning details. Valid admission, a theme park reservation for each park day, and a method of entry (MagicBand, admission card, or Disney MagicMobile pass) are currently required for theme park entry. MagicBands are linked to individuals in My Disney Experience and are nontransferable. They remain active unless specifically deactivated online or in the My Disney Experience mobile app (three lines at the bottom right of the home screen --> scroll to "My Profile" --> MagicBands and Cards).

It sounds like you have two My Disney Experience account profiles that need merging, Julia. When you traveled with another family last year, your My Disney Experience account profile was likely managed under another person's account. That is the profile to which your MagicBand is linked. Now that you've created a new My Disney Experience account, here are the steps needed to merge the two:

    1. Ask the person managing the My Disney Experience profile connected to your MagicBand to log into their My Disney Experience account.
    2. Have them click "Update" next to your name on their Family and Friends list.
    3. Have them click "Share Planning with Julia."
    4. Have them enter the email address associated with your current My Disney Experience account and click "Continue."

You will then receive an email from Disney Destinations with the subject line "You have a Family and Friends invitation to join in on Walt Disney World vacation planning." Click "Accept" and the vacation entitlements housed on the previous account will automagically transfer to your new account, MagicBand included! This goal can also be accomplished by speaking with a Cast Member at the My Disney Experience and MagicBands phone number.

I'm channeling my inner Olaf to wish you the best Disney vacation in summerrrrr!! We hope to see you planning Disney at planDisney again soon.

    Choose magic,
    Jennifer
