I got my MagicBand+ in the mail, trying to link it to my phone. Message says "This MagicBand+ has already been claimed."

    Hello there, Thomas!

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by with your question. It's my pleasure to help you with your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort.

I see you have a new MagicBand+. How exciting! I love MagicBands so much that I have five; with all the cute options, you can never have too many. I have one for every look! Depending on how you got your MagicBand, it may already be linked to your My Disney Experience account. For example, if you purchased one as part of your Disney World Resort vacation, it will already be attached to that reservation.

However, if a MagicBand is already linked to another Guest in your party, you can't link it to yourself. Once it's assigned to a Guest, you can't reassign it.

If you purchase a MagicBand anywhere on property, you'll need to link it to your My Disney Experience profile manually. The process is quick and easy through the My Disney Experience app.

If you have any difficulties or need more assistance, you can always call Disney or ask a Cast Member for help. They'll make sure your MagicBand is set up correctly before your trip.

I love how versatile the MagicBand is. It truly makes a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth even more convenient. It's important to have everything ready to go so you can easily scan into the theme parks, use your MagicBand as your Disney World or hotel room key, and access your Lightning Lanes.

Bonus tip: I highly encourage you to charge your MagicBand+ after every park day so it's ready for your next adventure. If you misplace your charger, don't worry; you can purchase another at most retailers on site.

You can also check which MagicBand is assigned to you by logging into your account on the official Disney website. Hover over “My Disney Experience,” then select “My Disney Bands and Cards.” Scroll down to find your name, and you'll see all the MagicBands assigned to you.

Thomas, I hope this information has helped, and most importantly, I hope you have a wonderful time on your vacation! Please come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Your personal planning companion,
    Michelle
