    Do I have to have a magicband to enter the park? What do I use as my ticket to enter?

    Please accept my warmest welcome to planDisney! We’re so happy you brought us a question! 

    MagicBands make getting around the Walt Disney World Resort super convenient! They can be attached to your My Disney Experience account to link tickets and Disney PhotoPass pictures. When linked appropriately, you simply scan your MagicBand when entering the theme parks and you can even get ride photos and videos from attractions that use MagicBand technology to auto-magically link media to your account. When staying on-property this all-in-one device can also be used to unlock the door of your Disney Resort hotel room and charge food and merchandise purchases during your stay. While you can choose to purchase a MagicBand for each member of your party, you certainly don't have to! You can just use your actual Walt Disney World theme park tickets (cards) for entering the theme parks and capturing PhotoPass photos from photographers. MagicBands are very helpful, but they are not required! 

    Please note, plans are in place to unveil an innovative new offering as part of the My Disney Experience app in 2021! It is likely to bring the features of a MagicBand to your smart device. So, make sure to download the My Disney Experience app on your mobile device if you have not already!
