With the Magical Express service, how long should we plan for it to take to get to the resort after our flight arrives? Also, it says that we should plan to depart 3 hours before our scheduled flight time. Will this allow time to eat a meal at the airport?

    Hi Jennifer!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so happy to help you get ready for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Disney's Magical Express is my favorite way to begin a trip to visit Mickey because it's such an easy and convenient mode of transportation between Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World Resort. It's so nice to not have to worry about rental cars, directions, parking or even luggage!

When you arrive at Walt Disney World Resort, I recommend that you plan three hours between the time your flight lands and when you will arrive at your vacation "home". This will give you plenty of time to get off the plane, travel through the airport, board your bus, travel to Walt Disney World Resort and possibly stop at other Disney Resort hotels to drop off other Guests. While I have sometimes experienced shorter travel times on Disney's Magical Express, I like leave plenty of time in my itinerary for my family to get through the airport and I never want to start my trip rushing to our first event.

For your return trip to Orlando International Airport, your bus will generally pick you up from your Disney Resort hotel four hours prior to your flight departure time. This increased amount of time will make sure that you have plenty of time to accommodate traffic along the route and the security lines at Orlando International Airport, which can often be lengthy, while giving you time to get a quick bite to eat before your flight!

If you are flying one of the participating airlines, be sure to take advantage of Resort Airline Check-In so that you don't have to worry about your luggage during your last vacation day and as you travel to the airport. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
