Since magical Express will not be running after January 1. Are there any other transport services from the airport to a Disney Resort? We arrive January 4.

Hey there, Rick. I'm so excited to see that you are planning a Walt Disney World vacation in early January. I can't think of a better way to start off a new year!

As you already know, starting January 1, 2022, Disney's Magical Express Service will no longer be running. Guests, like you and I, will need to find our own transportation from the airport to Walt Disney World and back again. The good news is we have several options to choose from. My favorite way to get back and forth is to use a ride-share service. Ride-share services can drop you off right in front of the lobby of your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel making this a great option. I find that ride-share services are the most affordable option out there right now. I know some people don't feel as comfortable using a ride-share service and if that is the case, I'd recommend a traditional taxi. Taxis are always queued up and waiting right outside of the airport doors and can get you to where you need to go with no problem. Another option that you have is to hire a car service that will be waiting on your when you land and will pick you up from your resort when you are ready to return. A quick internet search will turn up all of the companies in that area that offer that service. Depending on your party's size you might be looking at a Towncar, SUV, Passenger van or if you are really fancy - even a limousine! The last option that I can think of is a new service starting at the beginning of January called Mears Connect. Mears was the company that Walt Disney World contracted the Magical Express Service out to. Since their contract is no more, they've decided to start their own service. Since it is brand new, I don't have any experience using it just yet but you can head over to the Mears Connect website and check out all of the details.

As you can see, there are plenty of options to get you over to the Most Magical Place on Earth for your vacation. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have fun and happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
