Is magical express still going from MCO to resorts? If not how do we get from airport to our resort? Options?

    Hello Melissa,

Thank you so much for bringing your planning question to planDisney. Are you getting excited about your June trip? There has never been a more magical time to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The 50th Anniversary Celebration is going on, and it is an incredible event. Also, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be opening at EPCOT this summer, and I’m hopeful it will be up and running in June.

Unfortunately, Disney’s Magical Express Express is no longer operating from Orlando International Airport. However, there are still multiple ways to get to Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels (by bus, rideshare, or rental car).

    Bus
If a bus is your preferred method of travel, both Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer are your best bets for transportation to Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels. Unlike Disney’s Magical Express, you will have to pay for both of these services. Please check out their websites to pre-book and learn more about either Mears Connect or Sunshine Flyer.

    Rideshare
Another popular option for Guests is rideshare services such as Uber or Lyft. Orlando International Airport is a large hub, so many vehicles are available to you whenever you arrive. You also can depart to and from the airport when it best suits your schedule.

    Rental Car
A final option available to you is to rent a car. My family and I prefer this option the most. In our opinion, it is easier for us to travel around Orlando and Walt Disney World in our own vehicle than relying on rideshare. If you like this option, it is super easy to pick up a car at Orlando International Airport, and it only takes 30 minutes to arrive at Walt Disney World Resort. Once you get to your resort hotel, there are many ways to get around the resort, including bus, water, Monorail, and Disney Skyliner transportation. One thing to consider about renting a car is that you will have to pay for parking at the resort hotel.

I hope this answers your question; let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you plan for June.

    Happy Planning!
