Now that Magical Express is gone. What is the cheapest and easiest way for a family of 9 (3 children, 2 needing booster seats), plus luggage, to get back and forth from MCO to my Disney resort?

Hey Howdy Hey Donna and welcome to planDisney!

As we all continue to find our way to Walt Disney World Resort after the final departure of Disney's Magical Express, many companies have stepped up their efforts to meet this need. Thank you so much for this question as this has been a big deal for many Disney goers recently and I am happy to help you navigate this terrain.

Now as far as the cheapest rate for transport to and from your Disney resort to MCO, that will depend. There are so many companies that have moved to fill this need that based on the time of year and when you book them, it is hard to find just the right one and the cheapest one. One of the biggest companies that have filled this role is MEARS Connect. They have a couple of options for transportation that you might want to look into. There are other companies such as Away We Go Transporation that I have heard are great as well.

Rideshares are also an option like Uber and Lyft, however, this might be a little more expensive in that you would need one with several booster seats, but an option nonetheless.

You also might want to keep an EAR out for news on Disney Minnie Van Service. This transportation is operated by Disney and is a direct way to get from your resort to and from the airport. This service has been paused since the Covid-19 closures, but Disney has recently announced it will return in the summer of 2022. As we anxiously await news on the capabilities and pricing, it might be a good idea to keep this in the mix as an option as well. You can keep up with Disney Parks Blog as I am sure they will let us know any updates on this anticipated option.

One thing to keep in mind with these options is the law about car seats and charter buses. To my knowledge, Florida law does not require kids to be in car seats while on charter buses. This would be an expense you will not have if you utilize options such as MEARS Connect with their charter bus option. I would make sure to check and review the laws for car seats in Florida before making your final selections just so you know before you go!

As things continue to fully return and settle in on such big events as the termination of Disney's Magical Express, it is hard to predict which option would be cheaper, especially in November. I hope this information was helpful to guide you to a few options to look into and if you have any further questions please let us know, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
