My magic are from 2 years ago. Do I need to reactivate them. If so how. Thanks

Hi there, Lucy! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks so much for stopping by to see us! I’m guessing you have a Walt Disney World vacation planned, and you’d like to see about using some existing MagicBands! MagicBands are the ultimate Disney vacation accessory! Your MagicBands remain linked to your account until you remove them! Batteries inside the MagicBand have a shelf life of close to 3 years, but they cannot be replaced. Batteries are not necessary for functions such as tapping at the turnstiles or entering your Resort Hotel Room, however! They come into play for long-range scans, so the ability for ride photos to be attached to your band at a distance, for special ride features that may be available on some attractions, etc. Bonus Tip: Simply have at least one Guest in your travel party with a MagicBand that is less than three years of age, and you should not have to worry! If you find that you are missing some ride photos or videos, reach out to PhotoPass support, and they can try to find the missing files for you!

Lucy, I hope that this information helps you continue to make magical plans for your next vacation! Also, if you need new MagicBands for anyone in your group, check out ShopDisney for some fantastic designs! And please know that we are here for you for any further questions you may have, so do not hesitate to come back and see us.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Clara
