Howdy KaCee!
Welcome to
planDisney! I am thrilled to see that you are planning your first trip to the
Walt Disney World Resort with your family! I am so excited that you shared your question with us, and I am ready to help you!
My family and I returned from a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort a few months ago. We had an amazing time. It was actually one of our favorite trips! We definitely expected things to look a little different, and they did, but for our family, it was “Practically Perfect in every way!” Currently, you will not be able to give Mickey a big hug that we have all enjoyed in the past but get ready to see Mickey popping up everywhere! That silly mouse can really get around! You might not be able to hug him at this time, but you will get lots of waves as he strolls by in style throughout each park! You can still see Mickey and his pals at several character dining experiences. Mickey and his pals are not currently allowed to come to your table, but they do a great photobomb on your photo selfies! We loved seeing so many of Mickey’s pals that we have not seen in years. You may have to look a little higher up to catch a wave, but this experience was tons of fun for my family and me! With the
cavalcades and the processionals, you will feel like there is another mini parade, “Just Around the Riverbend!” It looks like your vacation is about a year away, and I am sure things will look different at that time. To stay up-to-date on all the Walt Disney World Resort changes, check out the Disney Parks Blog! The Disney Parks Blog will keep you updated on all the reopenings, new dining experiences, and new attractions coming in 2021!
Since Mickey and his pals opened their doors to guests in 1971, this year will mark 50 years that the Walt Disney World Resort has been "Making Dreams Come True!" This will mark an EPIC year in Walt Disney World history! There are lots of new and exciting things planned for this monumental celebration! As you continue to check the
Disney Parks Blog, you will be able to learn about everything as the Walt Disney World Resort commemorates this celebration. You will also learn about all the exciting things that you will be able to do in 2022!
I hope this helps you decide when to take your family to the Walt Disney World Resort for your first visit! When you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort for your first visit, make sure to ask Guest Services for your “First Time Visit” button so everyone can celebrate along with you! I have placed a few links in the highlighted area above for easy access to several sites that will help you with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation in 2022!
