Hello! I will be at Magic Kingdom on 12/28 and have a 4pm reservation. When should we be leaving the Magic Kingdom to get over there in time? Is there parking at Fort Wilderness, as we have several cars and are staying off site? Thank you in advance!

    Hi Russ!

If you are going to be in the Magic Kingdom, then the best way to get to Fort Wilderness is to take a boat from the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness.  It's a fun and relaxing trip and boats run about every 15 minutes.  To get there in time, via the boat, I suggest being out at the boat dock in front of the Magic Kingdom by 3:15 pm.

If you want to drive your own car, then you will need to leave the Magic Kingdom earlier to allow time for the monorail or ferry boat, followed by the parking tram, driving to Fort Wilderness, parking there, and then taking an internal Fort Wilderness bus to where you want to go.  In that case, I would plan on leaving the Magic Kingdom by 2:30 to 2:45 to make sure you have plenty of time.

There is parking at Fort Wilderness, but you basically have to park outside the campground and then switch to an internal bus system (or walk, but it's a very long walk across the campground).  Once you are at the Fort Wilderness parking lot, I would plan on 30 minutes to get where you need to go.  That's includes what I think is an average amount of time to wait for a bus to arrive in the first place.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
