At Magic Kingdom parking lot, which is closer handicapped or preferred parking?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question!

I’ll admit it: I’m hopelessly spoiled (I refuse to say “lazy”!) and I spring for Preferred Parking all the time when I visit the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. At the end of a long Disney Day when my feetsies are very tired, it’s nice to save a few steps.

I actually think that the Disability parking spots at Magic Kingdom Park are a better idea for your party, if you have a valid disability parking permit for your car. First of all, not only do those spots cost the same as a “regular” parking one (so there’s no “Preferred” add-on) but, most importantly, they’re also in the front few rows of the lot. There are times, particularly mid-day, when the Preferred parking can still mean a bit of a walk, but that’s rarely the case with the spots designated for Guests with disabilities. Your best bet would be to go with those spots, at Magic Kingdom Park and, frankly, all of the other Theme Parks too.

Quick tip for Magic Kingdom Park: don’t forget that you’ll need to take Walt Disney World Water Transportation or the Walt Disney World Monorail Transportation from the parking lot at the Ticket & Transportation Center to reach the Park’s gates.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. We’re always happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
