Hey, Brendan and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
There are two "must-dos" that lights up my smile at Disney Parks: fireworks and parades. I have been coast to coast with Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade seeing it both at Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park and rocked out to the discontinued electrophonic SpectroMagic. But my all time favorite is Paint the Night Parade as it lit up Town Square at Disneyland Park. I can still hear Owl City's synthpop, "When Can I See You Again?" and it puts a smile on my face.
Sadly, we have no idea if and when a nighttime parade will return. We can only hope that Mickey and the gang are putting something together that will be amazing. The 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom Park is only two years away and a perfect opportunity for some new nighttime songs, lights, and Disney characters. I suggest following the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest update on new adventures around Walt Disney World Resort.
Just because there is no regular nighttime parade does not mean there are no parades. Check out the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade for some of the best floats representing Disney stories new and old. See if you can find Olaf...hint...he is next to Princess Anna. In addition, special ticketed events like Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party have had parades during the party. Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade is my favorite has the Haunted Mansion grave diggers spark the path with their spell struck shovels.
Disney Dad Tip: Our favorite spot to see parades is by standing in front of the half wall forward of the Hall of Presidents.
Brendan, enjoy making many Magical Memories.
