Hey, Christina!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so glad you ask this question because attending Magic Kingdom Park parades is a must for kids for all ages.
There are two standard parades offered at Magic Kingdom Park:
Disney Festival of Fantasy and the
Main Street Electrical Parades. Mickey likes to switch things up so each parade typically starts from a different location. The route may be found on each parade's web page.
Disney Festival of Fantasy is a daytime parade with singing princesses, dashing princes, Disney characters aplenty and topped off by Maleficent as a fire-breathing dragon battling Prince Phillip. The parade begins in Frontierland just past Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.
The Main Street Electrical parade with spellbindingly happy music, glittering floats with classic Disney characters waving to you and more dancing than you can imagine makes it a jewel of Magic Kingdom Park. I love seeing my favorite giant green dragon, Elliott, from the 1977 Disney classic, Pete’s Dragon, strolling the parade route puffing smoke through his nose. It's so great!. This parade usually begins in Town Square to the left of Harmony Barber Shop and travels up towards Cinderella Castle. On rare occasions, it will start in Frontierland.
Disney Dad Tip: The best places to view parades is along the elevated wooden walkway in Frontierland near the Country Bear Jamboree or just in front of the Hall of Presidents attraction in Liberty Square. Be sure to be there at least 45 minutes before the parade begins.
Christina, enjoy making many Magical Memories!
