We are going to Magic Kingdom on New Year’s eve and We smoke. Are we gonna be able to get to the smoking section out of the park and then come back to the park even if it’s close to new guests ?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Josee! It’s always a pleasure to assist a fellow Canadian with their magical vacation planning.

I think the Walt Disney World Resort is a wonderful place to ring in the new year, and the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park are sensational! Have you seen all the New Years Eve celebrations planned all around Walt Disney World? It’s going to be a fantastic place to party.

According to the Park Rules, smoking is prohibited inside any of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. At Magic Kingdom Park, the designated smoking area is outside the park entrance, near the resort bus pick-up and drop-off location.

I checked in with a Cast Member, who told me that your best plan is to check with a Cast Member near Magic Kingdom Park’s entrance if you want to leave to smoke. Because New Year’s Eve is a very busy day, and the park does sometimes close for capacity, it’s not possible to predict the status and operating procedures that will be in place, as it depends on crowd levels, security measures, and other internal concerns. A Cast Member will be able to let you know if you’ll be able to come back in should you leave. My advice would be that, if you do need to leave, it’s best to do so earlier in the day to avoid being unable to return, and check with a Cast Member before leaving.

I hope you enjoy your New Year’s celebration at The Most Magical Place on Earth, Josee! As you count down the days to your visit, be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest news about celebrating the holidays around the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. If you think of any more questions, please come back and see us! My good friend Lynne can even answer your question in French if you’d like to ask her directly.

Have a happy holiday season and a most magical vacation,
