If the Magic Kingdom has morning extra magic hours, what time does Let the Magic Begin start? And can you still enter the park up to an hour early on those days, which would likely mean one could enter at 7am?

Hello, Emily, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m glad you’re hEAR for assistance with your upcoming trip! I like to think of myself as an Extra Magic Hours pro, though I’m always learning something new. I’ll lay out an example day so you can plan your morning.

Here’s my scenario: If the Magic Kingdom opens to the public at 9am, it may have Extra Magic Hours at 8am. That means Walt Disney World Resort property guests may enter and explore Main Street U.S.A. as early as 7am, depending on when the turnstiles are open and ready. As 8am approaches, you’ll find that guests start crowding at the ropes that will bar the “lands” off from the Central Hub area. At approximately 7:50am, the welcome show, “Let the Magic Begin” will take place on Cinderella Stage to great fanfare and even a little fireworks. It’s a great way to start the morning! Extra Magic Hour guests will then be allowed to cross into Tomorrowland and be scanned into the park via their MagicBands to verify they are staying on property. Occasionally, a few lands like Liberty Square or Frontierland will not have their attractions open and running until the park is wholly opened to the public, but you should have many, many attractions to fill your morning with.

I like to make a dash for my favorites, like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Peter Pan’s Flight to avoid long lines and make the best of my day.  Please check the Park Hours calendar for each day of your visit and then you can adjust my example schedule for your own use. Let me know if I can help you any further, and have a magical trip! ~ Lindsey P.
