Welcome back to
planDisney, Shawn!
I'm so jealous that you're planning to giddy up with some horseback riding during your upcoming vacation. It's always been on my bucket list as I've heard from so many friends that have had magical experiences. I actually visited
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort for the first time recently - the trails are beautiful,
the new barn at Tri-Circle-D Ranch is such a fun stop, and
Trail's End Restaurant is the perfect way to end a day out in the wilderness with some rustic favorites!
There are a few great transportation options for you to consider. Check-in for horseback riding is located near the front of the resort, and for this reason, I suggest taking the
complimentary bus transportation from Magic Kingdom Park to Fort Wilderness and getting off at the Outpost Depot stop. Once you're out of the saddle, you'll need to mosey on down to the Settlement for your meal at Trail's End and there's complimentary bus transportation within the resort to get you there. You could always walk if you want some exercise, but it is about one and a half miles between horseback riding and Trail's End, a walk that would take about 30 minutes.
If a meal at Trail's End will wrap up your time at Fort Wilderness, I suggest taking
water transportation back to Magic Kingdom! A boat ride can be a relaxing change of pace, and the docks are just a short walk from Trail's End meaning you won't need to make your way back to the front of the resort. You might even catch the
Electric Water Pageant float on by!
I can't wait for you to have these unique experiences as part of your vacation! Please don't hesitate to
reach out if any other planning questions come to mind.
