When will Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios be decorated for Christmas this year?

Hi there, Emma - welcome to planDisney!

Thanks so much for stopping by with your question for our team of panelists today. We love helping Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical, Walt Disney World Resort vacations!

The winter holiday season is one of the most magical times to visit Walt Disney World Resort! I love that the weather has cooled off a bit, and you simply can’t miss all the beautiful decorations, exciting entertainment, and delicious holiday treats! Speaking of decorations, if you haven't seen it yet, I recommend going to Disney+ and watching the Decorating Disney: Holiday Magic special. You'll get a behind the scenes look at how Walt Disney World Resort transforms from Halloween to Christmas!

Unfortunately, there isn't an official timeline to help us plan for visiting once decorations are complete. While it is a quick process, it does take a couple of weeks for everything to be transformed, including the Theme Parks, Resorts, and Disney Springs. We can look to past years for an idea though! The transformation at Magic Kingdom Park usually starts immediately after the final Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (and sometimes sooner), which is on October 31st this year. Most of the transformation is usually complete before the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which this year is on November 8th. There are a lot of factors that come into play and many finishing touches are added over time, so this is just a rough estimate.

I hope this information is helpful as you begin planning your holiday adventure. Please let me know if any additional questions come up along the way!
