We will be going to Magic Kingdom for the first time. Can you explain the parking and entrance process to me? Where to I park, where do I enter, do I need to get a tram?

Hi there, Christine, and welcome to planDisney! I couldn't be more thrilled that you've stopped by with this great question about your very first Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I just know you're going to have a blast, and I'm here to help you navigate these details so you can focus on the magic!

Christine, you'll be happy to know that you can arrive at Magic Kingdom Park and enjoy Main Street, U.S.A., for about an hour before the park opens. There aren't any attractions available during this time, but you'll be able to shop, get some coffee, and take some beautiful early-morning photos of Cinderella Castle.

This means that the Magic Kingdom parking lot will be available earlier than the park actually opens. The parking is clearly marked, and Cast Members will direct you through the gate and toward the available spaces. Once you exit your vehicle, take note of your parking area and the number on the ground at the end of your row. The My Disney Experience App actually has a car locator feature to help you remember! Depending on the location of your vehicle, you might have the opportunity to board a tram that will save you some steps. If you have a stroller, you'll need to collapse it in order to board the tram. Your next stop is the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). This is where you will go through security and you will have the option to either board a ferryboat or monorail that will take you the rest of the way to Magic Kingdom Park. Once you arrive, you'll scan your park admission at the gate and enter the park!

So, to summarize: park your vehicle, board a tram (if needed) to go to the TTC, go through security, board a Monorail or boat, scan your ticket at the gate, and enter Magic Kingdom! Please note, the other three theme parks do not require that you go through a transportation center to enter - the parking is directly at the front, and oftentimes, a tram is available if needed.

Since it's your first time visiting, be sure to stop by Guest Relations for a complimentary button that you can wear to show that you're celebrating your very first visit! Don't hesitate to ask a friendly Cast Member for assistance any time you have a question, and use the My Disney Experience App to help you navigate the park.

Christine, I hope this is helpful to you as you make your plans for your vacation. Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you continue to count down to your arrival!

    See you real soon!
