Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Carol ~
Your trip is super close and I know you are too excited to sleep!
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is held on select evenings at the Magic Kingdom from 7:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. and does require a separate
special event ticket. On the evenings that it is held, the Magic Kingdom closes at 6:00 p.m. and only those Guests with the special event tickets are allowed to enter or remain in the park once Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party begins at 7:00 p.m.
If you would like to stay in the Magic Kingdom after 6:00 p.m. on December 19th, 2017, you will need to purchase a ticket for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in addition to your regular theme park ticket. If you want to do that, I would highly recommend that you go ahead and purchase your tickets as soon as possible as the dates closer to Christmas tend to sell out.
If you want to spend a full day at the Magic Kingdom but do not want to purchase tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, I would plan to visit on a date that Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party isn't held, if you can switch your dates. If not, go to the Magic Kingdom on the 19th with the mindset knowing you have a shorter window of time but that you can still have an awesome time. If you still need more magic after the Magic Kingdom that day, hop on the resort monorail line and tour the resorts. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has an incredible Christmas tree and a giant gingerbread house!
Please feel free to visit us again with all of your planning questions. We will be hEAR for you until you embark on your pixie dusted trail.
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
